*Love is a True Thing*
By Karma

My eyes lit up, in almost anticipation as my lover encircled his arms around me. I eyed him with an almost seductive glow as my mouth came down on his in a rough kiss. He moaned in response, his arms holding me tighter.

"You're so sweet," he whispered lightly into my ear. I shivered at his breath and leaned my head backwards as his kiss trailed from my lips and downward. I stood up from where I had perched on his lap and pulled him to his feet and practically dragged him to the soft bed that awaited us in the hotel room. He smiled at me, slipping in a cute little dimple. "How did all of this come to be?"

I just grinned at him and he quickly grabbed at my pale yellow blouse, slipping it over my head in a flourish. "Easy there, tiger," I whispered in a light drawl which I could tell sent shivers up his spine. I reached up and unbuttoned his red flannel and pulled it off, as I did a crinkled piece of paper fell from it. I leaned down, turning my back to him, and I heard him take in a short gasp as his eyes landed on the view of my behind. I stifled a laugh as my eyes roamed the paper.

SUBJECT: RE: Just a quick hello

wow. . . what can I say, but wow! TVU is a huge place. I'm glad I listened to you and switched over here from the other place.

Regarding your e-mail, well the specific things you said in it, but I agree with you. . . I've been in love with you too since that first time we met on my planet, but I guess I never mentioned it because of your dating Kendrix.

But it feels wrong doing this via an e-mail, so let's talk on campus at the coffee shop?

TTYL,
Maya

"Leo, what's this?" I recognized it, how could I not? I think I have it saved among old university papers too but to carry it in a jacket?

"It's that e-mail you sent me when we first began to date. You remember that date, don't you?" I nodded at him shyly and he winked at me. "I even saved the wrappers!"

I laughed and whacked him on the arm, "I know people like to keep memories saved, but that's a bit extreme, don't you think?"

He shrugged, then grabbed me by my waist and pulled me in front of him and reached a warm hand behind me and pulled apart my bra ends. I shivered as his other hand moved to meet it and began to rub my back. "You feel so warm and smooth," he whispered into my ear, his breath as warm as before. I leaned up and pressed a sweet quick kiss onto his lips and pulled away.

"I think that we better move to the bed before we collapse to the ground," he nodded and then grabbed me. I gave a startled squeak as we landed on the bed. The bed gave a light moan, disagreeing with our fast landing. I reached to pull his red tank top off and he obliged, lifting his arms as I pulled it all the way off and tossed it to the ground, scattering next to my also discarded top.

He grabbed me again, pulling me so I was right next to him and he began kissing me lightly, trailing quick kisses down my throat and shoulders.

I looked at him, suddenly flashing back to years ago when we had done that one meeting at the coffee shop. . .

I walked into the coffee shop, suddenly nervous. But why I was, I had no clue. I looked around, and then grinned softly to myself when I saw him sitting in a corner at a table.

"Hey," I said as I walked over to him. He jumped up and smiled.

"Hi," he responded, flashing me this look that made me shiver. "I'm really glad you suggested this, because I think we really do need to talk."

I nodded. "We do need to." I sighed slightly and looked at him. "That e-mail really surprised me."

He nodded, as if understanding. "It probably did. But I…had to write it. My feelings for you are just too strong to ignore."

I looked into his eyes, and only saw sincerity and perhaps love for me. I smiled. "You want to know something?" he nodded. "I think my feelings for you are pretty strong, too." He looked at me in almost shock so I continued. "You've been a best friend for a long time. When I first met you I was the stereotypical airhead almost. I knew nothing about other things than my world. Yet, you and the other Rangers…came to help me and then defend my planet from harm. I think I fell in love with you then."

"You…did?" he managed to get out. I nodded and before I could lose my nerve. I walked over to him and pressed my lips to his in a sweet-yet-heated kiss. "Does this mean," he murmured, "that we can go out to the movies tonight?" I just grinned and kissed him again.

I looked up at him and smiled. He was staring down at me questioningly. "What?"

"I was just wondering what you were looking at is all."

"Ooh… nothing really. Just thinking about you," I grinned and leaned against him, feeling his warm body heat.

He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me so I sat in his lap. "Maya, I think I love you more tonight then I have anytime else." I blushed at the words. "I have a question for you."

"Oh?" I was curious now, more then I could say. "What's that?"

"Well," he paused, then leaned over and fumbled with something that laid in a shirt pocket. He removed a little red velvet box. I gasped inwardly, already suspecting what he was going to ask me. "Maya, I have loved you from the moment…well, since I laid my eyes on you and I don't think I could ever live apart from you," he paused and looked at me, eyes twinkling. "Here…" he handed me the box and I opened it. A beautiful sparkling diamond ring sat in it. "Maya…"

"Are you…"

"…will you marry me?"

I gazed at the ring, then up at him, then at the ring again. I grinned slowly and nodded. "Yes." he grabbed me into a hug and slipped the diamond on my finger.

"I was SO hoping you'd agree." Instantly, I was reminded of the young man who I had once known when we were fighting off Sting Wingers. The care free man who had no worries in the world rather then the serious, now-to-be-a-husband man I was engaged to. I was beginning to think I liked both. I grinned at him and brought my lips to his for another earth-shattering kiss.

I let myself get lost in his embrace as he grabbed the white sheet and brought it upon us, blocking the view of any late night walkers outside.

My eyes fluttered open from bright sunshine filtering in from the window. I looked around as my eyes adjusted to the light. I didn't recognize the place, then the night's events from the previous evening came thundering back: dancing at the Java Riot; making out in Leo's Jeep; coming back to the apartment, and then his proposal. I blushed faintly, remembering the night of passion that followed after he asked me.

"Mmm.." a moan came muttered. I looked behind me and grinned at Leo. Snickering, with a evil smirk, I leaned up and pressed my lips to his and his eyes flew open in shock but soon fell into the kiss. "What a way to be woken up from sleep," he managed to get out. I kissed him again, my fingers running up his smooth chest. He moaned softly again as my fingers danced along his skin. I grinned, deepening the kiss. He brought an arm around me and pulled me close, as his lips searched mine.

"We better get up and moving for the day," I noted at last, reluctantly pulling away from him. He nodded, and gave a mock sigh. I patted him on the head and grinned, "We can continue this…later, you know." He grinned and I winked at him. I stood up slowly, fully aware that he was getting an eye full and dressed into my jeans and yellow top. Even after retiring from being a Ranger, color coded wardrobes were hard to give up.

A few minutes later, not to mention many kisses, we left the apartment, and outside, where we ran into a group of three people, who conveniently were Kendrix, Kai, and Damon.

"What are you doing here?" Leo and I almost asked in unison.

"We came to get Leo," Kendrix said. She eyed me. "What were you doing here?"

I paused, then brought my hand up to the light. The ring sparkled brightly in the light, showing off it's crystal like form. "Leo proposed to me last night!" I suddenly glanced at Leo, who wore the expression I did: wonderment at our friends shocked faces.

To be continued…
