This story happens a few weeks after the events of "Gotham Knights" in the True Destines series. Enjoy!

Never Fall in Love

Andros sighed with weariness as he pulled at the bow tie around his neck. "Please tell me why I must go to this dance with you?" he asked Tim Drake as they walked up to the entrance of Gotham High School, both young men were in tuxes that Bruce Wayne had bought for them for the homecoming dance.

"Because you need to know how to relax, and the White Ranger made you my bodyguard," he replied, "Besides, maybe you will meet a really nice girl to dance with her."

"Girl? Earth dancing? No, thank you!" shouted Andros as he made an expression of disgust.

"Why not?" questioned Tim, "You could have a few dances with, maybe ask her out…"

"And become a lovesick fool like the Phantom Ranger? Having stars in my eyes, running around the universe to find gifts to please her?" he growled out with bitterness.

Tim rolled his eyes in annoyance as they went inside the building, "What is your problem? You're not gay are you?" he asked.

"No, I'm not gay! However, I do have the opinion that girls are nothing but trouble!" Andros finally bellowed out in anger.

What do you get when you fall in love? A girl to burst your bubble, That's what you get for all your trouble, I'll never fall in love again!

Andros scowled in disgust as he watched the dancers from the sidelines on the gym floor. 'Tim, just doesn't understand! I did fall in love a long time ago, however she was just a spy for Dark Specter!' he silently thought to himself.

What do you get when you give your heart? You get it all broken up and battered, That's what you get, a heart's that's shattered; I'll never fall in love again!

Andros continued to remember the past as he silently made his way to refreshment table,'She found out about our defenses, and the next thing we knew Dark Specter was devastating the planet.'As he picked up a glass of punch from the table, he heard Tim's voice shouting from the crowd, "Andros!"

What do you get when you need a girl? You get it all broken up and battered, That's what you get for your devotion; I'll never fall in love again!

"Yes?" Andros asked as Tim and a young blond-haired girl approached the young Ranger.

Tim introduced the two teenagers to one another, "Andros, this is Stacy. Stacy, this is Andros, an exchange student from Belgium."

"Hello," purred Stacy as she held out her hand.

"Hello, Good-bye," coldly replied Andros as he made his way away from the two friends.

"Well, I never met anyone so rude!" shouted Stacy in shock.

"Sorry, about that Stacy. Can you please excuse me, while I talk to my stubborn friend?" questioned Tim, but before she could give a reply he left her to find Andros.

A few minutes later, he found Andros standing outside in the football field gazing at the stars, "What is wrong with you? I introduce you to one of the prettiest girls in the school, and you just walked away from her!" exclaimed Tim with embarrassment and anger.

"I certainly did! How many times have I told you and Dick? I'm not interested in acquiring a girlfriend! The only thing girls can do for you is chain you down and then when you least expect it, betray you and everything you hold dear!" he shouted out furiously.

Don't tell me what it's all about, 'Cause I've been there, and I'm glad I'm out! Out of those chains, those chains that bind you, That is why I'm here to remind you. I'll never fall in love again!

Tim looked at the young Ranger with new light as it suddenly dawned on him, "You were hurt once by a girl you fallen in love with, what happened?" he questioned softly.

Andros suddenly laughed madly as he replied, "Oh, she didn't do much harm. She was just a spy for an evil emperor, helped to conquer my home world, and killed nearly all of Astro Rangers. Myself, and the Silver Ranger are the only survivors; however, the Silver Ranger was so seriously injured in the battle at the moment he is on ice in a healing chamber!

Tim stared in shock as he asked quietly, "What happened to her?"

Andros shrugged with indifference as he explained; "I killed her, when I was saving the Silver Ranger from the death blow she was about to give him.

What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies and pain and sorrow, So for at least until tomorrow, I'll never fall in love again!

Tim placed a comforting hand on the young Ranger's shoulder as he sadly advised him, "Andros, I know that was a very bad experience for you. But, not every girl in the universe is like that! Just give some girl, somewhere, a chance to fall in love with and for her to fall in love with you!"

"Never!" bellowed Andros as he shrugged off the comfort that Tim tried to offer, I'll never fall in love again!" Then he walked away from him as Tim looked on with sadness in his expression.

Never fall in love, Never fall in love, I'll never fall in love again!
