Prologue
By R. Buell

The sun begins to set in the sky, but that does not stop the team of ferocious diggers that are hard at work. Their task seems understandable. Their faces show strain…they want to rest yet something keeps them from doing so. Each person holds a shovel or a pick and whacks at the dirt mightily.

(A man comes in to view over the cliff, he looks down at the hundreds of workers digging. The man is dressed in a black robe. His hair is long, black and his skin is tan. His eyes have no pupils, only plain blackness. If someone were to look directly in it they would assume they were looking through a window to outerspace. The man sighs and turns around only to be startled by another being)

GERAGIN: (man with black eyes, robe) Stalvik, you enjoy surprising me?

STALVIK: (impatient. He is very tall, large and his skin is gray. He has no hair on his head. Unlike Geragin, his eyes are plain white. His is very muscular, and towers above Geragin. He replies in an emotionless voice) I refuse to believe that you have found nothing. That is unacceptable. We have very little time, don't you agree?

GERAGIN: It depends on who's opinion you want. The value of time is different for everyone.

STALVIK: (impatient) You know what will happen if nothing is found don't you?

GERAGIN: How can I forget. You tell me everyday. Over and over again until it drives me mad!!!!! I'm sorry, sire, but I don't wish to spend the rest of my life searching for ghosts that aren't there–

STALVIK: (angry, breaks in) It is here!!!!!! IT is no ghost!!!!!

(Stalvik walks away, towards the people digging)

GERAGIN: Last I heard this thing died!

(Stalvik stops in his tracks and grows angry. He turns around and walks up to Geragin and punches him)

STALVIK: You will never speak to me in that tone or disrespect again is that understood. It is no thing.

(A call from one of the diggers)

STALVIK: What is it?

(A man approaches Stalvik)

MAN: We've found something, an entrance!!

Stalvik walks, following the man who leads him to a hole in the ground. The crew of men stop working and crowd around. Stalvik stops before the entrance.

STALVIK: Stay out here. I want to enter alone.

The crew obeys him as Stalvik enters the hole slowly. Soon he disappears in the darkness.

Inside, Stalvik walks blindley through the tunnel. Soon small flickers of light glow off in the distance. Stalvik walks towards it until he meets a dim command center. He peers down to see an entire chamber filled with machines and buttons, and lights among lights. Stalvik searches for a way down until he realizes he is standing on some sort of elevator. He finds a button that brings the metallic floor down. Stalvik gazes with astonishment at the sight he is seeing. He lands on the floor and immediately walks over to a dim-lit screen that seems almost ready, willing to work. In the background to his ears he listens to the sounds of the lights bleeping and the machines clanking. Stalvik looks around to see stations filled with controls and buttons. High-tech gadgets fill compartments. There is dust everywhere. The place looks ancient but seems new. It gives Stalvik a confused, uneasy feeling. He sees other hallways down further.

Stalvik sees a figure in the distance, a strange metallic robot with a wide-spherical head. He walks across the platform to it. It is hiding in the darkness.

STALVIK: Hello?

No answer. Stalvik approaches it and finds no reaction from the machine. He looks at a dozen of wires surrounding the robot. He realizes to himself that the robot is in some sort of trance or sleep. Dust covers the robot heavily. Stalvik catches a certain image on the robot and leans in closer to wipe the dust to get a better look at the words. It read: "ALPHA 4"

Stalvik leaned back and turned around back towards the heavy machinery. He approached the screen once more and looked around for a button. On the bottom of the floor a small red laser comes in to focus as Stalvik crosses it. Immediately a sound buzzes of and the screen activates. Stalvik steps back.

COMPUTER: Identify yourself!

It spoke firmly and deeply. The voice was booming and god-like!

STALVIK: I am Stalvik..(sighs) of Altar!

Suddenly, a compartment opens up revealing a place to insert an object of disk-like form, Stalvik grabs a disk out of a pocket and stares at it for a moment and then places it int he space provided. The compartment closes and sudden flashes are made on the screen. The computer talks once again, only in a adgrogenis type voice.

COMPUTER: Accessing computer archives…. memory banks…journal….One file exists available from the access code given, it shall be retrieved… codename- Power..Power-wer Ra-Ran- Rangers.

Suddenly a design for assault vehicle comes online. In the shape of a triceritops. The color blue then a sabretooth tiger… then one titled "Ninja Zord–un-retrieved. Top Secret hideout." Stalvik looked in amazement at the designs and the journals of the creator. Stalvik then came across a document titled "In production". He accessed it using the control pad. The words scrolled on screen, "Space".

STALVIK: My heaven!

Stalvik then found something interesting in the file list, a document titled "help". He accessed it. Suddenly, a head appeared on screen. It appears to be a male head baige-colored. It spoke-

COMPUTER: Rangers!!

It was the voice he had heard before.

STALVIK: (in amazement) I found you. Zordon!
