Meet the Alzurians, Rangers!

Part I
[2116. The Jewel Rangers have been actively removing the implants from soldiers of the Dark Army, reverting them to their pervious selves so they can go home. Nebula is driven to invade more worlds to gain the soldiers she needs but, they are captured by the Jewel Rangers and cured as quickly as she can churn them out. With no avail, Black Nebula hears of a world habitated by an aggressive race of people called Alzurians, who pledge allegiance to the highest bidder. Nebula travels to this world and recruits a task force of fifty to fight the Rangers. She hires the people with no intention of paying their fee. The Alzurians group into a small fleet of space ships and fly toward Earth. The Jewel Rangers and Lucent (the Prism Ranger) intercept the fleet and the sides exchange many rounds of fire]
[Aboard the Jewel Rangers Ship, Skyland, the White Ranger, sits at the head controls with a distressed look on her face. The other Jewel Rangers are at their respective places, manning different controls.]
Brice- Who are these guys?
Xenos- They don't strike me as the run of the mill Dark soldiers.
Daisy- They are far too smart!
Evin- They seem to be against us, regardless!
Jenii- Seems that way!
Sky- (sarcastic) We can chit chat with them after the battle, I'm sure!
[A signal comes through to them from one of the enemy ships. A fierce looking male Alzurian with small black eyes, a large protruding forehead, and dark tanned, oily skin stares down the Rangers from the viewing screen.]
Alzurian- I am Hatar of Alzuria, hired by Black Nebula to destroy you…..This space battle is boring us, we wish to continue this battle on land.
Sky- On land?! Why?!
Hatar- We are warriors, we like to fight face to face. Only cowards hide behind machines; real warriors fight with their hands and primitive weapons!
Evin- Why are you so adamant about face to face battle?
Hatar- Because my fleet can easily defeat your ships. It would be unsportly for us to simply destroy your ships with you inside, don't you agree?
[Skyland looks down to a small view screen on her control panel, feeding to Lucent on her ship. Lucent nods to Skyland, and gives a thumbs up. Skyland looks to the other Jewel Rangers who all are in agreement and then back up to the view screen.]
Sky- Fine, I hope you have space suits 'cause we're going to finish this battle on Mars!
[Skyland turns off the view screen and the two Rangers ships and small Alzurian fleet travel the short distance to Mars. The Alzurians are first to teleport their forces down to the surface. The Prism Ranger teleports over to the Jewel Rangers ship as they are preparing to go down to the surface. The teens morph into the alien climate suits which feature condensed, stream line air tanks onto their backs and a chemical coated shell to protect them from the harsh environment. They then beam down to the surface, where the Alzurians eagerly await them, wearing crude looking brown suits.]
Hatar- I thought that you perhaps backed up and took the chance to flee for your lives!
Lucent- Rangers have more courage than that!
Hatar- Whatever you say, Lucent of Orpalt!
Evin (to other J. Rangers)- It seems everyone knows Lucent!
Jenii (to Evin)- She's a popular gal!
Lucent (to Jenii)- I'm just that old.
Hatar- I'm now affirming to you that I have a force of fifty to your seven; you can surrender now if you like!
Sky- No, thanks! I think seven is our lucky number!
Hatar- Your decision!……I admire bravery, even when inappropriately stupid!
Sky- Thanks for the compliment!
Lucent- Are you going to show your force to us or do we stand here all day?!
[Hatar smiles, wryly and turns to his eager forces.]
Hatar- Attack!
[The Alzurians run at the Rangers and begin the attack. The Rangers use their weapons in their hand weapon form to defend themselves and counter the Alzurians. The Alzurians sworn around the Rangers, each take on seven or eight of the Alzurians at once. Evin leaps up and strikes two of the Alzurians at once with a double kick and strikes a third with his war ax. Jenii, swings around her pole in a quick spin and knocks two enemy soldiers to the ground. Lucent, finding herself crowded by the eight Alzurians leaps over their heads and lands about twenty feet from them pulls out her boomerang and tosses at the Alzurians, it strikes three of them across the chests and disables their air tubes and they are forced to leave the battle. The remaining Alzurians, storm at Lucent and she kicks at them and punches. The battle continues much the same for about ten minutes, them the Alzurians suddenly change moods and the battle picks up. The Alzurians all charge at the Rangers, enclosing them in a circle.]
Xenos- Somehow I think that before they were just warming up!
Daisy- ..Or toying with us!
Lucent- Testing us!…The Alzurians aren't known as the best fighters in the galaxy for nothing!
Brice- They hold some sort of title for this?
Lucent- Oh,…… you wouldn't know…The Alzurians are quite famous for their unremorseful and tactful fighting!
Jenii- Thanks for informing us, after we engaged them in soldier combat!
[Lucent shrugs her shoulders slightly]
Lucent- I felt our odds might be better this way!
Evin- Either way we are severely out manned…..
Daisy-.Oh well, let's find out the maximum strength of out powers!
Sky- No time to cry about it now!
[The Rangers take on the force of Alzurians, enclosing on them. Unfortunately the Rangers are not strong enough to ward of the defeat. They are captured and placed in energy shackles, the Alzurians taunt the Rangers over their defeat. The Rangers are placed onto a small remote controlled ship and piloted to the edge of the black hole and wait. The Alzurians send confirmation to Black Nebula that they have captured the Rangers. Nebula is very pleased, when she beams onto the Alzurian ship and sees a remote of the Rangers in capture. The Alzurians first demand payment before sending the Rangers to their doom. Hatar holds the control to the ship]
Hatar- It is time to pay us our fee, Black Nebula. Then we will pilot the ship with the Rangers in it into the black hole.
Nebula- Send them in now!
Hatar- Payment first!
Nebula- Finish the job first, Alzurians!
Hatar- When we are payed!
[Black Nebula's temper flares and she slams her fist on a panel and glares at Hatar.]
Nebula- I have never paid a soldier. I give orders….. Now send then into the black hole!!
[Nebula lurches forward and tries to grab the control from Hatar, but the large man is far stronger than her. He is very angered by Nebula's words and scowls at her.]
Hatar- So, you never planned to pay us for our service! We don't take kindly to being cheated!
[Nebula realizes what she had said and backs away, scared but trying to hide it.]
Nebula- I'll pay, I, I just don't have enough at the moment!
Hatar- Liar. I hate liars!
[The Alzurian crew of ten other people close in on Nebula, hostility in their eyes. Nebula backs further away and tries to beam off the ship, but is unsuccessful.]
Alzurian- We blocked your teleporting control. You are trapped!
Hatar- Do you know what happens to those who cross us?
Nebula (gulps)- …..I can get you the money, I have it on the mother ship!
Hatar- Too late, Nebula! (staring down at the frightened woman)
[The Rangers can hear everything that is happening on the Alzurian ship, and laugh slightly to themselves at Nebula's situation, in spite of their apparent situation at the border of a black hole. Lucent calls to the leader of the Alzurian force, Hatar.]
Lucent- Hatar! Hatar!
Hatar- That is more than Black Nebula promised!….(thinking it over)…In exchange for what?
Lucent- That you allow us to take care of Black Nebula.
Hatar- I suppose that is fair! (Waves his hand)….Teleport them back!
[The Rangers are teleported back to their ship. On the view screen, Nebula is held at bay by several weapons pointed at her. Lucent dictates instructions to her ship computer link and seconds later a large satchel of coins and box of crystals materializes in front of Hatar. Hatar is pleased by the sight of the treasures and beams Nebula to the Ranger ship. He and his people turn back their ships and leave the solar system, going home. Nebula stumbles forward and glares at the Rangers.]
Part II
[Nebula is trapped aboard the Jewel Rangers ship. The cocky woman, Dark Nebula has nothing to do but be even more cocky.]
Nebula- So you beat me, now what?
Sky- What you expect? (Skyland takes a combative stance)
[Nebula smiles at Skyland's gesture and takes a combative stance of her own. Lucent intervenes.]
Lucent- This is between me and Nebula, Skyland. Allow me this fight!
[Skyland honors Lucent's request and backs away. The Jewel Rangers all make room for the two to fight. Nebula is thrilled by the chance to fight her long time enemy.]
Nebula- Do you know how long I've wanted to fight you? (slinking around Lucent)
Lucent- Too bad you'll lose!
Nebula- (sarcastic) Oh, I lost long before now…..You are the cause of my situation, dear ancestor.
[Xenos is shocked by Nebula's admittion, the others thinks it to be another lie.]
Nebula- I don't care who you are Lucent, you immortal traitor…You abandoned my family and the house fell from grace with the League of Elders.
Lucent (nodding)- I know….I couldn't stop it!
Nebula (still stalking around Lucent) – The whole line died off slowly after you left. Astronema was the only one to take me in after my mother died and I had no one.
Lucent- I became immortal four thousand years ago. Not you or even your great, great grandmother existed then!
Nebula- You never returned to your home world….Always out saving the universe, to busy to help those whom came after you!
Lucent- I made a vow to become a Power Ranger, to protect the galaxy for eternity. I can never go home; it was the trade off for immortality.
Nebula- So we died…… I grew up hearing of your legend. Always wanting to meet you, but you were untouchable and godlike. I could only read of the glory days of our family, visit the ruins of the castles and tour the family cemetery……..You were not like all the others preceding me, never dying. You had kept in remote contact with all the previous generations, including my mother. When my mother was ill and dying she asked for you to return, you never came. You left me alone!……I went to Astromena, because I had no where else to go, for that I hated you!
Lucent- There was a battle on Muira when I received word; by the time I got to the home world, I was told you had already left. I didn't know where to look for you!……I didn't have time to go searching all over the universe for you when war was waging somewhere.
Nebula- "War is always waging somewhere." Astromena had taught me that. She also taught me to be self dependent and to love no one…..I will conquer this Galaxy after I defeat you. Without you around rallying up the Rangers, I can pick them off a group at a time with my army.
[Sky interludes with a comment]
Sky- Certainly not the Alzurians!
Nebula- I don't care!!
[Nebula screams out and strikes the Prism Ranger with her staff. Lucent counters Nebula and the two fight for minutes before Lucent becomes agitated with Nebula's antics. Lucent powers up her boomerang and releases it upon Nebula.]
Lucent- This may kill you, but it is for the best!
[The boomerang strikes Nebula in the chest and penetrates her heart. Nebula falls to the ground and appears to be dying, but instead, she is transforming. The boomerang is drawing all the hate from Nebula's heart. It grows dark and falls out, shattering on the ground. Nebula's face has changed, softened, she gets back up to her feet and looks around herself with new eyes.]
Evin- A new heart seems to be beating withing Nebula's breast!
Jenii- Wow, she's changed…And very beautiful!
[Nebula is now donning a light pink dress and matching slippers. Her hair is down and soft around her lovely face. Lucent looks shocked by what her own powers have done to Nebula.]
Lucent (mutters to herself)- I never knew that could happen!
Nebula- Thank you, Lucent, you have killed the evil that was within me…..I was so filled with hate for you that it was all I could think of. You have set me free!
Lucent (still shocked & being blatantly honest) – I meant to destroy you!
Nebula- You destroyed the untamed evil within me!
Lucent- I don't think my boomerang is any use to me anymore! (Looking down to the dark fragments on the floor. She reflects) …..I guess my objective is finally completed. I am no longer needed.
[Lucent powers down and looks down at her jewel embedded in her chest.]
Lucent- I have been away from my family for too long, I have lost my connections to my home.
Daisy- What are you talking about? You are the Immortal Prism Ranger, Lucent!
Brice- The galaxy needs you!
Lucent- I am just a girl from Orpalt that has been away from home too long……When my boomerang shattered, it was a sign that my obligation as a Ranger was fulfilled. I am no longer required to be the Prism Ranger, I can pass along my power. It is time that I return home.
Xenos- You're going to give up everything?
Evin- You're the oldest and most powerful Ranger that has ever existed.
[Jenii runs up to Lucent, upset by Lucent's plan]
Jenii- Your knowledge is invaluable to all the Rangers! (Almost crying)
Lucent- I have lived for over four thousand years, and outlived forty generations of my family. Nebula and I are the last of my family line….I must return home and continue the line, grow-up and perhaps marry, have children and grow old. I don't want to live forever, I just discovered……I have been alone for so long, with Osiris, my Spark, as my only companion for so long, I need more…….
[Lucent closes her eyes and focuses. The stone embedded in her chest begins to glow brightly and she opens her eyes and removes it. She holds the stone in her hands]
Lucent- No one is meant to live forever! Not even the best people or Rangers should be immortal. I will, however, give the six of you my legacy.
[Lucent holds the stone up in her hands and meditates. The stone floats up from her hands, begins to spin and shoot out beams of different colors and then breaks apart. The fragments each go to one of the Jewel Rangers, and embeds itself into their foreheads.]
Lucent- You are all granted the gift of a very, very long and youthful life, in exchange for which you six are now the keepers of the "Prism Powers". You are the champions to the entire galaxy…..When evil arises again, you can call upon your powers to battle darkness in the universe.
Sky- That is a large commitment! Why us?
Lucent- You are young, and experienced. The Prism Powers are renewed in you six, and will be renewed again in many years by whomever you choose to replace you.
Brice- It will be awhile before new Jewel Rangers can be found, won't it?
Lucent- Yes, I think so, but I think you will have time enough…….I sometimes doubted I would ever find you.
Sky- Find us? So their was more to your plan of finding us after all. You were training us to replace you all along?
Lucent- I don't know for sure. I was drawn to you three years ago, led by the crystals, but at the time I thought I would never want to be mortal again…..Destiny is an odd thing sometimes.
Jenii- All along, you were destined to defeat your descendant and return home after four thousand years as an immortal.
Lucent- Well, I did more than just that, but, yeah, I suppose so……With you and the other Rangers still out there, I know the universe is in good hands!……….(Lucent presses some buttons and the teleporter is activated. Lucent and Nebula beam back to their home world.)..Goodbye!
Epilogue
The Jewel Rangers return home for several months and help rebuild damage on Earth and elsewhere caused by the Dark Army. Nebula, now living in a small house with Lucent, who has made a public apology for her crimes and serves a suspended sentence on account of her full change of character. Nebula joins the Youth Gaud on Orpalt, and, after a while, makes friends with, ironically, perhaps young people she had condemned to being soldiers in her Dark Army. Nebula gains a new life as well as Lucent. Osiris is with them.
The Jewel Rangers finish their educations and travel the galaxy helping wherever they are needed. Skyland and Evin marry in 2120, with full attendance at a chapel in New Angel Grove. All the Rangers attend in dress, including Lucent and Nebula. After the ceremony, Zordon and Alpha congratulate the couple, who travel for two weeks in the White Ranger ship. Many, many years pass. The Jewel Rangers continue to travel, when the next evil threat arises in the neighboring galaxy. They intervene in the war and begin more adventures…
