Changing Colors: Passing on the Power

[2116. After the Orange Jewel Ranger returns to the future, the Rangers battle with the Dark Army heats up again. Dark Nebula sends in a second wave of soldiers to defeat the Rangers and gain control of Earth. In a violent and destructive confrontation that issued with the Dark Army, the Rangers are subsequently trapped behind a force field created by Nebula. The field slowly drains them of their powers, and nearly kills the Red Guardian (Ranger from Miura) who had made an attempt to cross through the field. The force of the field whipped the Red Guardian's own powers back at him ten fold, which paralyzed him. Nebula laughs at the Rangers and brags.]

Nebula– Only a powerless Ranger can step through my force field. In the meantime, you are all becoming weaker with each passing moment! See you when you are all powerless, Rangers!! [All the Rangers become distraught from hearing this statement, but hesitate to act. A thought rises in Skyland. As the leader of the Jewel Rangers, she takes it upon herself to be the one to go through the field. Skyland knows what must be done to attempt to save the others.

She decides that Xenos, who has been tremendously brave the past year, is most deserving of her powers and the leadership role. Skyland powers down and removes her Topaz necklace and steps toward Xenos. She asks him to remove his helmet, knowing what she is about to do, Xenos and the other Jewel Rangers remove their helmets and stand silent.]

Skyland– (commandive) Xenos, I want you to have the Orange Jewel and it's powers, and to become the leader of the Jewel Rangers. (she holds up the necklace in front of his face)

[Xenos nods solemnly to Sky as she fastens the necklace around his neck. It hangs down over his uniform.]

Skyland– (teary eyed, but strong voiced) I want all of you to……promise me that you won't allow Dark Nebula and her Army to take control of the Galaxy, no matter how long it takes.

[The Rangers all nod and Xenos manages a throaty whisper of 'Yes' to Skyland. She backs off as he begins to transform. The Topaz melds with his Black Quartz and Xenos becomes the Red Jewel Ranger, donning a uniform similar to what the Orange Rangers had been, but without the jewel in the helmet. Skyland smiles up at her friends, takes a deep breath, and walks through the field.

Skyland is immediately sieged upon by at least two dozen soldiers and she begins to fight. Kicking and punching, Sky executes several Karate and Judo moves to take care of ten different troops. With leaps and high kicks, she is able to incompassitate a dozen more, but for every soldier she beats, two seem to file in to take their place. Sky soon loses the upper hand and is pounded by the angry mob. She continues to fight hard and by luck manages to get to the control panel and release the Rangers from the force field in spite of her injury.]

[Once released, the teams of Rangers take on the swarm of soldiers teleporting into the room. Dark Nebula suddenly appears and points her staff at the group of Rangers from the planets Ruzia and Cerosia in one part of the battle. Skyland sees the intent in Dark Nebula's eyes as the tip of her staff charges up with a glow. As Nebula releases the burst of energy aimed at the alien Rangers, Skyland grabs the staff and takes a fatal amount of the surge to her chest and face. She is sent flying back fifteen feet and falls to the floor in a lump, just as the Rangers are beating the Dark Army. Skyland gasps, trying to breath, but coughs and squirms in pain. The Blue Jewel Ranger, Evin, and Purple Jewel Ranger, Jenii, witness what happened and rush to Skyland just as she dies. The other Rangers notice what has happened, but are held away by soldiers. The Prism Ranger breaks away from the enemy and goes to Evin's side and looks down at Skyland's body. As the two Jewel Rangers have begun to mourn the loss, the Prism Ranger stare at the body intently, half smiling because of what she knows.

Moments later, a light begins to surround the body and Skyland lurches up for breath. Evin and Jenii are shocked and fall backward, staring as Skyland gets up and the glowing intensifies around her. The light quickly becomes blinding bright and fills the entire room with whiteness. When it dies down, the soldiers are all gone, back to wherever they came. Sky stands in a White Ranger suit with a winged breast plate and a glowing ball of light turns into a White Diamond which floats in the air about two feet in front of Sky and then merges into her breastplate. A second ball of light goes to her face, creating a helmet over her head. She holds up her hand and a long sword of Crystal materializes in her hand from a third ball of light.

Skyland looks down to her uniform and sword in amazement. Lucent, the Prism Ranger speaks to her]

Lucent– Skyland, because of your bravery and unselfishness, you were granted the Powers of the White Jewel Ranger.

Sky- But I thought I died?

Lucent– Evil cannot kill a virtuous heart, Skyland. Your name itself means, a higher place……The Powers of Light were always strong within you. They have now matured to their highest level.
