I think I replied to everyone, but anyone I missed I apologise to. The voting was very close quite close to begin with, but towards the end, the choice you will see here became the clear winner. Quite suprisingly, only 1 person voted for Tommy to go, apparently his popularity was vastly over-rated. Anyway, please read on and you should find another list of choices at the end of this part. Votes for this part should be received by 10pm GMT (5pm Eastern Time) on Sunday 24th October. Any other votes after this time (although appreciated) will not effect the story. Well thanks again to anyone who voted, and I hope you get what you wanted here.

Time Scale: This carries on seconds after part One finished with the Rangers being given the three choices.

Cube 2
By Matt

Enigma stood there watching the Rangers confer. He had been all through the galaxy, challenging numerous worlds, but for some reason, this one piqued his interest. The Aquariyims, distant cousins of the Aquitians, had instantly chosen to send their most powerful warrior alone. They believed that their strongest warrior stood a better chance against the easier challenge. The Barbarians of Dreyzar had chosen to fight him straight on without a moment's thought. All of the other warriors he had faced had either a set plan for such options, or they were told what to do by their leader.

These humans were not told what to do by their mentor, nor did they have a set plan of action. Just the way they stood together discussing the options intrigued him. Listening in on their conversation with his powers, he could tell the way they were heading, and it pleased him. The outcome of this one would be much different to any of the others he had observed.

"With an easier challenge, surely the whole thing's just a lot. . . easier!" Rocky commented quietly to the others.

"Yeah, but if we chose that, who would we send?" Jason asked.

"Well you're the Gold Ranger, shouldn't you go!" Tanya commented.

"Yeah the Gold Ranger is more powerful than the rest of you, but each of us has some attribute that makes us better for the situation." Kat commented.

"Kat's right. It's impossible to decide like that. I say if it's just one of us going, we draw straws." Adam added.

"No." Tommy said, joining in the discussion for the first time. "We face this as a team!"

"But he said the challenge would be harder if we all went." Rocky pointed out.

"I know that, but look what's happened before. When Gasket singled me out, we were nearly defeated, the same when Archerina singled Kat. We've seen so many times what can happen to us individually, but every time we've come through using the power of teamwork. We're gonna face whatever this is. . . together!" Tommy explained. They knew as leader he had final say, but more than that, they knew he was right.

"Okay Enigma, we've decided." Jason said as they all turned to face him.

"We're all going!" Tommy commented before he could ask.

"Very well!" Enigma grinned. He waved his hand before them and the six Rangers vanished.

"What did you do with them?" Zordon demanded.

"I've started them on my challenge." Enigma answered innocently.

"Where are they?" Zordon added.

"Somewhere you can't help them!" Enigma snapped. "And there's nothing you can do, either, robot!" he added, seeing Alpha five heading for the scanner controls. With that, Enigma vanished, back to wherever he came from.

"Ay-yi-yi Zordon, what are we going to do?" Alpha called out.

"The only thing we can do, Alpha. Prey that the Rangers will survive." Zordon answered. 'Good luck my Rangers, I hope I have trained you well enough to survive this!' Zordon thought.

The Rangers appeared in a large one, probably about thirty feet in all dimensions. They stood just away from the center of the room. Immediately they started to look around.

"So where are we?" Adam asked.

"I guess this is Enigma's 'Challenge' then!" Rocky commented.

"Indeed it is!" Enigma called out from behind them. "Welcome to my Cube!"

"Okay, just tell us what we have to do so we can get this over with!" Tommy snapped at him.

"Very well. All you have to do, is get out." Enigma commented.

They all looked around. On each of the four walls was a door. Also, on the floor and ceiling, there were trap doors. "What, so we just have to pick the right door? That should be easy enough." Rocky said confidently.

Enigma laughed. "Oh you humans, you're a riot. If I didn't have a reputation to uphold, I'd let you live just for entertainment purposes." They all looked at him angrily. He was talking about them, their entire race as if they were insignificant insects. Enigma held out his hand and a bolt of energy came from his finger. It shot over to one of the walls and a computer terminal appeared. "With that, you can find out whatever you need to know to help you get out."

"Okay, so what's the catch?" Jason asked.

"Oh you'll see!" Enigma said. With a final laugh, he vanished.

Taking a moment to think about what he had said, they all rushed over to the computer terminal. Tanya stood at the front, activating the machine. A screen of information came up, and before any of the others could even understand any of it, Tanya had pressed several buttons and the screen changed. She was cycling through the information in seconds, taking in all she needed to know for now.

"Man, how do you know how to do all that?" Rocky asked.

"I have to use computers a lot at the radio station, and I've also been helping Zordon and Alpha a lot with some stuff lately." Tanya answered, continuing to search through the information on the screen. "Okay guys, I think I know what we're up against in here." she said, turning to the others. None of them replied, they just waited for an answer. "This 'Cube' is a massive space station of some sort. From what I can tell it's twenty rooms across, twenty rooms long and twenty rooms tall, so that's. . ." she started.

"Eight thousand rooms!" Kat said quietly as she realized just how massive the place really was.

"Eight thousand rooms? How are we meant to find the way out?" Adam asked.

"We're not!" Tommy commented.

"Are you sure there even is a way out?" Jason asked.

"Yes, and I know where it is too." Tanya said. "It's in room 0001. That's the first room on the top floor."

"So we know where it is, do we know how to get there?" Tommy asked.

"Yes. . . and no!" Tanya replied. "On each floor, there's a computer terminal like this one. Each terminal tells us the way to the next, and hopefully the final one will tell us the way to the exit."

"Hopefully?" Rocky asked.

"Yeah, I'm only guessing that part, but other than following the path to the other terminals, what else are we meant to do?" Tanya asked. "Without some idea of where we're going, we could wander around in here forever." She turned back to the terminal and brought up a plan of the whole Cube. The route from where they were now, the tenth room in, tenth room along and tenth floor up, to the next terminal was highlighted.

"Okay, that's quite a complicated route, you think you can memorise it?" Tommy asked.

"No need. Turbo Navigator!" she called out. A small hand held computer device appeared in her hands.

"What's that?" Kat asked.

"It's called a Turbo navigator, it's something I've been working on with Alpha and Zordon. They say it's something to go with the new Turbo Technology!" Tanya explained.

They all made a mental note to ask about this 'Turbo technology' when they got back, but for now, they had to concentrate on getting out of the Cube. Tanya put the device down on the terminal and a small part of it opened up and attached to it. It only took a few seconds to transfer all the data into the small computer. Tanya picked it up and set it to show their immediate area.

"Okay, which way?" Tommy asked.

Tanya looked around at the room and then down at the Turbo Navigator. "That way!" she said, pointing to the door opposite the computer.

Following her lead, the others all walked along, heading for the first doorway. For now they were silent. All of them were scared. This wasn't like their other fights. They weren't facing off against a powerful monster, or an army of machines. Now they were trapped in this place with no idea if they could get out.

They reached the doorway and Tanya pressed a button beside it. The door slid open, revealing the next room. It looked identical to the one they had just come from, except this one had no computer terminal. Other than that, there looked like there was nothing in their way.

Cautiously stepping through the doorway, Jason asked, "Okay Tanya, where next?"

Referring to the Turbo Navigator first, Tanya replied, "Straight ahead."

"Come on, let's go then!" Rocky said. The Blue Ranger started running along with Red and Gold close behind.

"WAIT!" Tanya screamed out as she saw something on the small computer.

The three Rangers stopped just before the center of the room. They looked back at the Yellow Ranger, waiting for an explanation to her sudden order.

She walked along to where they stood with the Green and pink Rangers following. "Someone give me something to throw." She requested.

Tommy held out his hand a small discus appeared. It was just something that Zordon had come up with. They would throw them for the others to use as target practice. He handed it to the Yellow Ranger who flung her arm back. Swinging it forward, she threw it as hard as she could. It had flown just past the middle of the room when something happened.

Moving almost faster than they could see, a series of wires spreading from the left wall to the right wall shot up from the ground, striking the discus hard and fast. They cut straight through it and the small target fell to the ground in pieces.

They all stared in amazement. "That was made of hardened universal Steel. Imagine what would have happened to you if you'd walked over there." Tanya commented.

"I don't even wanna imagine!" Jason said, shocked.

"Okay Tanya, what are we meant to do now? Are you sure it's that door we have to go through?" Kat asked.

"Yeah, we have to get into that next room." She said.

They all stood thinking for a moment.

"Wait a minute," she called out, "according to this map there may be a way round using on of these side rooms."

"But if the map says it's this way, shouldn't we follow it?" Adam asked.

"I'm not sure. The side ways are longer, the left one we would have to go through four other rooms, and the right one we would have to go through six." Tanya said, "And because those rooms aren't detailed in the planned route, I can't say what will be in them."

"How about up or down?" Kat asked.

"Not an option." Tanya said. "Neither of them lead anywhere near to that next room. We'd have to go through hundreds of other rooms just to move onto this next one."

"Okay, so which way do we go?" Rocky asked.

Well that's it for this part. I should warn you all that if the votes lead the Rangers wrong too many times, I might not be able to save them. The only way they will survive this is if you make the right decisions for them, so think carefully before you vote! Here are the choices:

  1. Try and get through the trap and to the next room. Go to the left and find their way through four other rooms. Go to the right, going through six other rooms.

Go back to the first room and try a completely different route.

If you voted last time, you know what to do, but if you don't, I'll tell you now anyway! Email me with whatever of the above choices you wish the Rangers to make at
