Any critique can be mailed to me at the link below. (Zelda Martial)

I would also ask you to email me if you would like to use any aspect of my story. The reason for this, especially with Zelda, is because the storyline is complex and has taken me since 1991 to create to where it is now. It is also under constant reconstruction so some items are subject to change. I will also have several standalones, which have nothing to do with the main sequence of events. I will tell you when that is so. I just want you to know that I am posting this against my better judgment because all my ideas are subject to change. I really wanted to wait and post it when the whole thing was typed, but I just want to get it out there and then post the final version on my site when complete. Any critique is welcome. I will also soon have out a guide to my characters. Thank you. I give to you now...

The Infiltrators
By Zelda Martial

"Your defeat is near-" Valhor swung around and nearly back handed Zelda again but then thought better about it just when he was about to hit her. "It's only a matter of time." Zelda then spit in Valhor's face again just to show him that he could not touch her. He hadn't ever before and wouldn't anytime in the future.

Utterly infuriated now, Valhor stalked out of the cell and the whirled around to face Zelda once again.

"No, no, no. It is your end that is near my dear Zelda." Valhor hissed. "Very near." He then began walking towards the exit of the cell room. "And there's no one here to save you this time."

Chapter Eleven: The Infiltrators

Delphi had retreated back to the Astro Megaship while the other rangers had gone their separate ways to rest after the day's skirmish. She was still worried over what would happen to Zelda, but she managed to get some rest herself before the following morning.

Zelda, on the other hand, had spent the entire night contemplating her move in which would free her, but the soon realized that Valhor was right. There was no one who could pull her out of this royal mess. All the other times the two of them had fought face to face, it had been with Trei at her side. But since he was now back on Tryforia, and she was on a heavily guarded cruiser, there was no way she could contact the outside universe for help. Not even if she could attempt such a thing. She would not put more innocent people in harms way, especially considering that the power of gold was the only thing known to be able to destroy the Varox.

"That bakta." Zelda cursed. "He disrupted my instinct for survival by bringing down the drones." Zelda then finished speaking her thought quietly to herself in Tryforian. "That's what got me in to the damn mess in the first place." Zelda's eyes then flickered over towards the guards. She noticed the day before that the two of them were afraid of Valhor even though their voices failed to show it. She could see it in their eyes. They were not obsidian like Valhor's so it made Zelda wonder if there was more to the two then meets the eyes, so to speak.

"Guards," Zelda managed to grab the attention of both of them by saying that. "Come here for a minute. I have something that I want to ask you." Both of the guards turned to face Zelda, but did not leave their posts at the entrance to the cell. Finally, after three minutes of silence, one of the guards came over to the cell door and talked to Zelda.

"What?" The guard asked. When the guard had spoken, Zelda knew instantly who the guard really was.

"Taka? Is that you?" Zelda asked. Many years ago, during the Tryforian Wars, a select group of Tryforians was sent to infiltrate the Varox's massive forces. After the second war had ended, a few of the group failed to return. When that had happened, Zelda was forced to abandon them and return to Galaxia. She had been one of the few who went, to guide the impostors on their mission. When Valhor had discovered that Zelda was an imposter inside his forces, Zelda managed to group the infiltrators together and told them that they were not reveal themselves period. Until they were able to get back to Galaxia, they were not to transform back into their humanoid selves.

"Yes my queen." Taka spoke telepathically. Zelda replied telepathically back.

"What are you doing here?" The two friends reminisced telepathically while the other guard stood watch.

"After you left, we were assigned to the Main Force. We haven't been able to escape since."

What about the other four?"

"Three of them managed to escape just before Byst and I were taken to the Main Force."

"Is that Byst with you?"

"Yes."

"Right then. You should get back to your post before someone comes. Remember, for no reason are you to tell anyone of your true identity until you can escape here."

"It still holds firm." Taka replied. Taka then made her way towards the other guard and continued to stand guard in front of Zelda, the way it was supposed to be.

Zelda looked towards both of her loyal servants, both of whom may end up being those they were not for the rest of their lives. But, Zelda realized, with them here on board the flagship, she knew she had a way out of this mess yet.

"Zelda, you better prepare yourself," Taka was telepathically warning her of Valhor's rapidly approaching Royal Guard. "Valhor's coming."

Zelda heeded Taka's advice and quickly backed away from her cell door, and pretended to be asleep on the hard, cold metal floor of her cell. Just moments afterward, Zelda could hear Valhor telling Taka and Byst to move aside and let him through. Both guards complied and stepped to the inside of the cell door.

When Valhor entered the Cell room and noticed that Zelda was still lying on the floor, he tapped, hard, a long object upon the metallic cell floor, which caused Zelda to cover her ears and cringe.

"Stand." Valhor commanded.

Zelda didn't comply. This was do to the fact that she had covered her ears to block out the horrible sound that seemed to emanate from all around her. Finally, she opened her eyes and noticed that Valhor was standing in front of her cell.

She sat up, and rustled the chains that bound her arms and legs, but did not do more than that.

"Rise." Valhor commanded once again.

Zelda looked towards Taka. As was to be expected, she and Byst did not betray their true origins.

"No." Was Zelda's reply to the pigheaded leader of the Varox. Valhor motioned to Byst to unlock the cell door and to bring Zelda to him.

Byst walked to the cell door and unlocked it. But when he went in to get Zelda, he turned around and faced Valhor.

"I will not let you harm her." Byst said to Valhor. Valhor, though, had no idea who he was talking to. It was then, to Zelda's horror, that Byst did the unthinkable. "I will not let you kill her." He then revealed his true form to all around him.

"Byst no," Zelda cried out. "Don't do it!"

Onboard the Megaship, Delphi woke with a start from her slumber.

On Terra Venture's main colony, the five galaxy rangers woke with a start at the same moment that Delphi had on the Megaship.

"You think that you can save her?" Valhor asked astonished.

Byst stood his ground firmly. He was not going to let that monster anywhere near his queen.

"Her fate has already been sealed. As is yours." Valhor then unleashed a weapon that Zelda knew what it was immediately. Even though she was still chained, Zelda stood up and then pushed Byst aside.

"No. I won't let you hurt him." Zelda spoke angrily. Much to Byst dismay, Valhor sheathed his weapon and grinned. His evil, leathery, reptilian features twisted and cracked into what, for a Varox, passes as smile.

When Valhor had let the saber drop to his side, Zelda quickly caught Taka's eye and telepathically told her to find someway of getting the gold quasar saber from Valhor. Taka nodded.

"I'll go with you willingly, where ever it is you want to take me."

"Good," Valhor sneered. "That exactly what I wanted to hear." He then motioned to Taka to come forward and guard Zelda from behind. She complied and when she brushed by Valhor, managed to accomplish another task that was given her, as well.

"Bring the other traitorous wretch. We'll deal with him and his "Queen" at the same time."

While Valhor had spoken that, Taka had slipped Zelda a skeleton key to the chains that bound her arms and legs together. Zelda covertly picked the one lock that held both the chains around her wrists and ankles.

"Oh Valhor," Zelda spoke as soon as she had finished picking the lock. Valhor had turned back to the door and had already began walking with his Royal Guard to where ever it was he was going to take Zelda. "I don't think you'll be taking us any where soon." Zelda then dropped the chains of her wrists.

To Be Continued...

lly, ü
